CASETHEORY
Privacy Notice
Effective September 4, 2026 · Version 2026.09.04
1. Who this notice covers
Camus LLC operates CaseTheory. This notice describes information used for CaseTheory accounts, exam study, purchases, rewards, and support. Separate products, including Project Camus / Habit of Living, OT Bestie, and MeridianRBT, have their own services and policies; using CaseTheory does not enroll you in them.
2. Information you provide
We collect your name, email, password hash, profile changes, accepted terms version, and support messages. Study records include exam enrollments, question responses, correctness, confidence, saved questions, tests, timing, flashcards, recall ratings, and personal card content. Reward records include points, redemptions, delivery email, and a shipping address only if you save one for a physical reward. Do not submit identifiable client, patient, or student information.
3. Payments
Stripe handles payment details in its hosted checkout and billing portal. CaseTheory stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan and access status, billing-period end dates, and relevant event identifiers. We do not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy notice.
4. Why we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, provide and separate exam study histories, calculate progress and rewards, manage paid access, fulfill redemptions, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and investigate errors. Transactional messages include registration, recovery, security, enrollment, and support notices. Creating an account does not itself subscribe you to marketing email.
5. Cookies and technical records
CaseTheory uses a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. Server records and security events may include request timing, browser or device information, technical errors, and hashed request identifiers used for abuse prevention. Our current implementation does not use advertising cookies or sell personal information. The site works without third-party advertising tracking.
6. Service providers
Microsoft Azure hosts application and database services. Stripe processes purchases and subscription management. Our configured transactional email service processes message recipients and email content when sending enabled account messages. Reward fulfillment may require sharing your selected reward and delivery information with the relevant fulfillment provider. Authorized operators may review support requests, content reports, and reward orders. Providers receive information needed to perform these functions.
7. Your choices
You can update your display name, switch exams, manage personal flashcards, and cancel future paid renewals from your account. Use the support form to request access to or correction of your information, change your email, or request account deletion. We may verify your identity before acting. Canceling a subscription and deleting an account are separate requests. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.
8. Retention and security
We retain account and learning records while providing the service and as needed for support, security, billing, and legal obligations. Following an approved deletion request, information may remain temporarily in restricted backups or records we must lawfully retain. Passwords are hashed, access is authenticated, and production connections use encryption. No system can guarantee absolute security.
9. Children and international processing
The service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly seek accounts from children. Information may be processed where our hosting and service providers operate, including the United States, subject to applicable safeguards. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
10. Changes and requests
This notice is effective on the date shown. We will identify material changes and provide additional notice when required. Contact CaseTheory using the support form or the written-notice address below.
